Key Accomplishments and Activities
  • Progressed with geomorphic evolution analysis
    • Prepared convex hulls for statewide digital elevation models to enable hydro-flattening of elevation surfaces
    • Created MHW surfaces and piloted "shoreline" location delineation for 40 cm scenario
    • Partially completed geomorphic assessment of barrier island features for 40 cm scenario
    • Finalized methodology and completed tidal conveyance assessment for 40 cm scenario
    • Completed SLAMM data collection and model setup
    • Partially completed SLAMM simulations for 40 cm scenario
  • Progressed with future land use and development methodology implementation
    • Progressed with population growth estimates with academic study partners
    • Evaluated and tested draft methodology to spatially distribute projected population increases
    • Completed initial development and testing of the land use and development tool
    • Initiated economic projections with academic partners
  • Progressed on reporting viewer and data dictionary development
    • Continued coordination with the IHRM team to align requirements with function of the iRISK framework
    • Progressed in functional requirements analysis, including identification of key viewer components by stakeholder
    • Initiated identification of detailed viewer elements by stakeholder
    • Identified key data layers across study elements and initiated database schema development
    • Progressed on aligning SLRRMS and IHRM data layers, and identifying needed changes to integrate SLRRMS multi-scenario framework into the IHRM data model
  • Preparations for risk assessment
    • Receipt of IHRM risk assessment database and toolset
    • Initiated evaluation of function and gap analysis for application of IHRM toolset to the SLRRMS

  • Continued coordination with the North Carolina Integrated Hazard Risk Management (IHRM) Study

      1. Team synergy
        • Discussed aspects of risk assessment data conflation
        • Discussed application of updated FEMA BCA coastal depth damage curves to SLRRMS/IHRM studies
        • Coordinated tool and database transfer to SLRRMS team
        • Coordinated ongoing schedule needs and items on critical path
      2. Reporting viewer development
        • Discussed draft assessment of SLRRMS viewer requirements and vision with IHRM team
        • Coordination of needed products and capability/viewer limitations
