Study Advisory Committee

The Study Advisory Committee is comprised of more than thirty stakeholders from State agencies, Federal agencies, Universities, Non-Profits and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and other public and private sector entities.

The role of the Study Advisory Committee is to: Assist with the identification of existing and in-process datasets and studies of relevance; Provide input on proposed analytical approaches and impact management strategies; and Review and provide feedback on draft and final analytical study results and reports.


Advisory Committee Representation:

  • Federal: Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Defense, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geologic Survey, Department of Homeland Security, and the National Park Service.
  • State: Emergency Management, Transportation, Public Health, Environmental Resources, Agricultural and Consumer Services.
  • Local: Carteret County, NC-20, NC American Planning Association, NC Retail Merchants Association, and a NC Citizen.
  • Academic: North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, RENCI, University of South Carolina, Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland
